It’s Still Possible to Buy a Home With No Money Down

Buying a home with no money down is still possible, and today we’ll highlight a couple of ways you can achieve such a purchase.

Can people still buy a home with No Money down? Actually, yes, and there are two ways this can be done.

The first way is to utilize one of two loan programs: the VA loan or the USDA loan.

The VA loan, which is exclusive to veterans, is by far the best program available. It has great terms and conditions and allows those who have served our country to qualify to buy a home with no down payment needed.

The USDA loan, on the other hand, allows homebuyers to purchase with no down payment required under the condition that the listing is in a qualifying rural area. Locally, there are several counties around the Greater Houston area where buyers can apply this loan. Like the USDA loan, this program offers great terms, as well.

Grant programs will vary from city to city, from county to county, and from state to state.

The second way to buy a home with no money down (or very little money down) is by taking advantage of one of the different grant programs that are available. First-time homebuyers, and sometimes even second-time homebuyers, can often qualify for such programs. Remember, though, that programs will vary from city to city, from county to county, and from state to state.

Check at the state level first for programs you might qualify for, and if there aren’t any, check your county, then your city. Using this option, you could potentially get grants for a home ranging from 3%-5% down, some even programs up to $30,000 in grants.
